This year over 2 million people had to leave their homes in Burkina Faso due to continuous violence and arm conflict

Arb'aeen Drive -  Burkina Faso

Dear Donors,

During these days of Arba'een, we are requesting your urgent help with a major displacement and hunger crisis in Burkina Faso- West Africa. Due to armed conflict and terrorist group activities, over 2 million people have been displaced from their rural towns and villages in Burkina Faso. It is one of the worst 3 displacement crises in the world. This displacement and conflict has led to very high food prices and shortages, and there is a hunger crisis with 600,000 at risk of starvation. You can read more about the crisis in the article below:

Welfare Aid International has already been actively working with Muslim communities in Burkina Faso to provide education and basic aid via our partner organisation Warissoul Anbiya. A school has been established and some poverty relief and sustainability projects have been implemented.

During this week where we mark the Arba'een of Imam Husayn (as), we are requesting donors to contribute whatever they can to help with this crisis. We are aiming to raise $100,000 this week.

How you can help

1. Donate any amount to fund emergency aid for refugees.

2. Donate $100 to purchase a sheep as part of 'Livestock Sustainability Project'. This amount will fund Warrisoul Ambiya School which is providing free education to children living in poverty in Burkina Faso.
